I love plants. No really, I love plants. I even have a YouTube channel devoted to expounding on my love for them. It’s natural that I’d try to incorporate them into my illustrations, but they can take time to draw. I decided to try to make my favorite kind of vining/trailing plants into Procreate brushes so I can make pretty borders and the like.
What began as a simple and fun task of trial and error became an all-night project, as I worked to figure out how to make the leaves trail each other. Eventually I came up with 8 pretty brushes, and I’m very happy with them. They work best as borders and decor when you use the “Edit Shape” function in Procreate to get straight lines and perfect circles and squares.
I’ve seen plenty of pretty botanical brushes on the market, but I haven’t seen trailing vines in brush form yet, so I’m pretty happy with these. What do you think? If you’re interested, they’re for sale in my Etsy shop.
